Building Maker adds 2 cities of Brazil: Porto Alegre and Brasilia

The 3D modeler, Google Building Maker, turns 2 years of life and adds 2 cities of Brazil to celebrate: Porto Alegre and Brasilia.
Google Building Maker is a 3D building modeler that works from any browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox) that it is very easy to use: Google provides aerial images of the cities and you just have to draw the shapes of buildings. Then the result is shared in the 3D Warehouse and if approved, also appears in Google Earth and Google Maps.
With these 2 additions, Google Building Maker has a total of 124 available cities.
Remember that on June added 5 cities of Argentina and in only 2 months 10,000 buildings were modeled there. So certainly, this will further contribute to the 3D maps to expand in South America.

If you want to start modeling the new cities, you should only go to Google Building Maker. Or if you are not satisfied with simple results you can also use Google SketchUp to model anywhere in the world and make more complex shapes and professionals.

Google Earth: one billion downloads

Google Earth now surpassed the one billion downloads worldwide. That is, between the desktop software, mobile application and the plug-in for Google Earth, a billion users explore the world, the Moon and Mars from their devices, going from high mountains to the ocean floors. And all in 3D.

Google Building Maker arrives to Argentina

For those who do not know, It is a 3D design tool for real buildings in your browser, without installing nothing or specific knowledge. Google provides aerial images, and users only have to choose the appropriate form and joining the blocks, as if they were pieces for Legos. The best part is that then these are published in the official maps.

This tool was already available to model more than 50 cities around the world, but so far, in South America, was only available for modeling Chile.

Now, Argentina is added to Building Maker and maked it big, in 5 cities!.

Google Maps now allows you to search using descriptions

Now you can search a "good place for coffee" or "a place to relax over the weekend"using the Google Maps search. Before this only looked between place names and description of the site itself.

What makes the system now is search also among the descriptions of the place, imported from different web sites that refer to it.

Currently only available in the U.S. and UK, although the provision is to expand the service in the world, as well as other devices and resources such as Google Places, for example.
